I should be happy when people like the things I draw and make, right? so why is it that when people say they like them or compliment them, do I hate them even more? that I want to get rid of them and erase all memory of them?

I think for most people (especially young people) drawing and art is a way to get your emotions out, but to everyone else it just looks like a pretty picture. So when people give compliments on them it can come across as the telling you that they understand you, but they really don’t. Maybe you don’t want anyone to understand, and because of the reaction you are given, the reaction you have grown to hate has been thrown toward that drawing, you grow to hate that drawing just as much.

I hope you understand what I mean, if you do, I hope this has helped, but if not i wish you luck.
